Scones

When I first heard about Scones, it was during my teensage years while studying in Canada,

Scones, muffins, cinnamon buns are commonly found in schoolcanteens and coffee places around campus and malls. As the weather was really cold, it is always good to have a piece of scones with coffee. Muffins are great too!... But I will save it and keep the details for another page to add on Muffins! (yes,... I will attempt to make them soon....)

Back to Scones..... It is a baked good, usually made of wheat, or oatmeal with baking powder as a leavening agent and baked on sheet pans. A scone is often slightly sweetened and occasionally glazed with egg wash. The scone is a basic component of the afternoon tea.

It is just so many different variations of them : plain, with added fruits like raisins, cranberries, savoury ones etc... there is even one made of just of lemonade and cream.

They also some in different shapes like rounds and triangles.  Usually, the classic ones are round, plain and best served with clotted cream and jam, like those served in the English Tea places. In recent years, scones also started to appear in coffee houses all over the world. They may be sweet, often containing fruit such as blueberries or sultanas, or else such flavorings as cinnamon or chocolate chips. US "scones" are usually actually closer to British Rock cakes. They are heavy, dry and crumbly, usually in a triangular or irregular shape.

My recent baking adventures have been awesome! It just keeps getting better.  I dream about them and will also wake up at 5:30AM just to prepare them for breakfast.

Classic Scones are scrumptiously delightful.  Raisin Scones are a hit.  Cranberry Orange Scones are so good that you cannot stop at one.

If you are keen to purchase any of them, please let me know too.
